Raya with Pak Lah at MITC

The internet was down for the weekend and I didn't have the chance to post this entry earlier. Well, my roomate's out for dinner so I guess this is my only time to blog. Pardon the delay.

On the 27th of November last friday, the public was invited for the Hari Raya Celebration with our Malaysian Prime Minister at the Malaccan International Trading Centre (MITC). Since this was my chance to get close to our nation's leader, I figured why not jump on the bandwagon as well and take the ti
me off for a free meal instead? After the bus ride, and since it's our first entrance into the never-made-public arena, we witnessed in awe the scale of the surrounding hall, it could be well enough to accomodate around 150+ dining tables.

The event was stated to begin at 2pm, but as we've all guessed, our beloved Pak Lah arrived around 3.15pm. We all lined-up respectively beside the red carpet to welcome him. K.L. and G.Z. used their handphones and snapped a shot and video of Pak Lah while he was making the entrance while shaking hands with us.

This is a video of the event snapped with G
.Z.'s Siemen's phone, it's a VGA camera phone so the quality isn't very clear, my apologies.

The phone held in the video came out with this shot, thanks to K.L., unfortunately VGA as well.

The press have a better shot of the event, click the picture below for links to The Star.

what I didn't get to see below stage...

The fun was yet over. The
20 minutes of hand-shaking and greeting sooned turned from a warm welcoming greeting into war. As soon as Pak Lah reached the stage, the people below were charging to the nearest food table with servings of satays, rendang, fried chicken and even roti canai. We grabbed and da pao-ed as much free food as we can from the event. That night we had a dinner party among ourselves from all the food we got. I've never felt so bloated in all my life here in Malacca that night.

Coming into the 2nd week of our revisioin week and finals are closing in a week's time. I've gotta get my head in the game.
