For me, I call it Judgment period.
piles and piles AND PILES of notes and tutorials for revision... Xp
For the next 2 weeks starting from tomorrow, comes the dreaded period of reckoning.

OMG, I could feel the chills and tingling sensation flowing through my veins. Though, one thing that I'm constantly injecting into my brain to prevent myself from having a nervous breakdown is the fact that my flight back Kuching is immediately the day after the last subject of finals. Something to look forward to nevertheless.
Just so you guys here reading this blog could relate or share with me my ever-so-dreaded 2 weeks of temporary hiatus, I've created a Finals column under the left sidebar and after each subject that I've taken will be crossed out just likethis.
So for my next post, I guess will be coming to you guys all the way from Kuching. Expect more photos and more updates.

I have something that I just HAVE to share with you all. I feel that I would be doing injustice to the world if I did not blog about it. I'm talking about the latest teen drama series called Skins which has taken Britain by storm, apparently myself too.

I started following Skins through torrent downloading at EZTV and downloaded the first episode from the first series just to see what Skins was all about, then like how everyone would put it, the rest is history.
The characters are all very diverse friends aged 16-19 namely Tony, Michelle, Sid, Maxxie, Anwar, Sid, Chris, Jal and Cassie as the lead characters, each with their own unique roles. I guess the main reason for Skins' success is the role of the characters where no series could brilliantly portray profound issues dealing with the younger generation such as religion, homosexuality, depression, racism, friendship, drugs and even sex while at the same time relating to the viewers and daringly challenging and crossing the fine line on how society perceive what's right or what's wrong. I could go on, but that's just scraping the surface of this surprisingly brilliant programme. It's deep, thrilling, provoking and each episode follows the individual life of every character and their relationships with the people around them.
Don't know where to torrent download it? Click HERE. The only thing that I find out about the series that really bummed me was the fact that the series only has 10 episodes for each season, but I still love it.

I was having lunch with my friends while flipping through the Sunday Star and the bold captioned "Tengku Faris: Don't question Malay rights" caught my attention. I mean how could it not? Click here for the star online article.
"Malay Unity is the Core of National Unity."We all know that Malay rights or privileges is a sensitive issue not to be brought up as it directly strikes the racial chord in our country, even more so after the heat of the general election. Having read that snippet from the paper, I tried to comprehend why exactly is Malay Unity the CORE of National Unity? I even tried thinking in Malay to understand the quoted phrase.
"Perpaduan Melayu adalah Asas bagi Perpaduan Nasional."
Correct me if I'm wrong but would that very strong and convincing statement made by Tengku Faris really, honestly, truly contribute in any way to our National Unity? I really am seriously wondering in a non-sarcastic way and it isn't even funny.
“The Malay Rulers will act as a source of unity and loyalty among all the people as stated in the Constitution and Rukunegara.
Way to go, I guess true "National Unity" in Malaysia will be achieved in no time having made that reassuring statement. One more thing though, when u mean "people", u do really mean the Malays, Chinese, Indians and others together, right?
On a more personal level, for this semester, we had to take a 2 credit hour "Ethnic Relations" or Hubungan Etnik as one of the subjects and I dare not say that my understanding on our country's National Unity is adequate enough to even be included or mentioned in this entry but one thing's for sure, the level of National Unity in Malaysia now by far in comparison has been an upward hill and I don't have to be literate to realize that Malay Unity has nothing to do with it.
I'd rather have it quoted:
"Racial Unity is the core of National Unity"Doesn't it have a better ring to it?

Although I couldn't make it to the screening of The Kite Runner at GSC in One Utama KL, thanks to the wonders of the internet and a very courteous roomate of mine who's willing to borrow me his laptop, I managed to get my hands on the DVD rip version of the movie in avi format from torrent download (not that it's illegal).
The Kite Runner tells the story of Amir, a boy who is haunted by the guilt of betraying his childhood friend Hassan, the son of his father's Hazara servant. Set against a backdrop of tumultuous events, from the fall of the monarchy in Afghanistan through the Soviet invasion, the mass exodus of refugees to Pakistan and the United States, and the Taliban regime (Wikipedia). The movie transcends discrimination and prejudice of what we perceive Afghans. Although the much talked about rape scene of sexual violence which wasn't even a big deal for any audience who's a movie buff like myself, sparked a controversy and lead to the movie being BANNED in Afghanistan due to some ethnic tension issues of a Hazara being raped by a Pashtun. Trust me, I've seen worst. No, not even close to adult films if you're thinking what I think you're thinking (grrr...).
What almost drew tears from me was when Amir found out about the death of his childhood friend Hassan who he never had the chance to apologize to. Instead in the end, Hassan wrote in the letter to Amir before he was killed saying that he will forever be waiting for the return of his friend in his home town despite all those years after Amir framed Hassan and betrayed their friendship. I wouldn't wanna elaborate any further or this entry would be a spoiler .
Truly a great movie and I could see why the book was (and still is) an international best seller from Khaled Hosseini.
My rating, 4 out of 5.
I wish I could fly kites like that.

despite of all the streak of misfortunes I've been going through, a sign of hope surfaced.
again, All Malaysian Bloggers Project chosed me as a winner with two tickets for the screening of the movie "The Kite Runner" on April 11th next friday at GSC, One Utama.
However, since it's in KL, I guess it's out of the question for me. So, I called kennedy to see whether he would go and claim the tickets to go for the screening since he's at KL and not put that ticket to waste. Apparently, he said that the movie wasn't his cup of tea, I guess International-best-selling-book-made-movie doesn't do it for him.
Again, another winning opportunity, gone.
