The Malaysian "style virus"

I've noticed the most appaling style virus spreading among the youth nowadays, especially the ones on the often labeled-by-the-society as "gangsters" or the more prominant "ah-bengs" and "ah-lians".. to make things worst, the chinese "ah-beng" and the initial american hip hop style of the malays has blended in together resulting to a product of a self-evolved trend of horrority and devastation. First lets see their corresponding way of "style", culture wise.

The Malays/Bumiputeras
Male: obvious self-dyed shoes, coloured according to nature's 7 rainbow colours, individually. Baggy denim jeans with a diameter large enough to fit an elephants leg, occasionally linked with fake argentum(silver) coated chain from the side pocket hanging to the back pocket containing the wallet. Exaggerated sized t-shirts or jerseys that makes a pregnant women's dress seem puny, sometimes having a white t-shirt as a base and a singlet as the outer attire, resembling the american hip hop trend, only hideous. Von dutch caps, Nike or Adidas caps available at India Street(which is also dominated with the "locals") worn sideways on the head.

Female: pointy white shoes(self-dyed also at times) with a fitting size that could actually choke their feet. Jeans that goes from the waist to the ankles shaped like a "V" thinning downwards clenching their ankles where the diameter is almost one fifth of their thighs. Most of them had t-shirts matching their jeans(black jeans = black t-shirt), if raining, expect White or Pink sweaters, maybe both coloured. Typical long hair almost like living Avril Lavigne cloneS(the hair, not the style).

The Chinese
Male: casual shiny leather working shoes, sometimes casual slip-ons, non-leather type, or just leathered sandals, dark coloured. Low-waist jeans with a little discolouration around the crutch area or the thighs or below the "cheeks"(occasionally a little of the mixes of all three) and the base of the jeans widened like a trumpet which literally covers the feet and picks up every dirt from every step made. Buttoned shirts, generally blacks and whites or flashy hawaian designs untucked with the first three buttons down the neck unbuttoned, exposing their masculinity some with folded long sleeves and not forgetting their valuble pouches worn across their chest as their wallet similar to beauty pageant delegates with their respective "labels" across their chest, this is wad distinguishes them most. Almost all have their hair styled unevenly with the right side more pointier and longer than the other side and combed to the side with a disproportioned look resting down over the eyes, some highlighted or dyed brown.

Female: distinct high heeled shoes and denim skirts short enough to trigger an emotional outburst of rage from grandmothers capable to acts of murder and excessive hemorrhage from the male spesies, mainly from the nose. Some conservative ones with low-waist denim stressing on butt sizes. Spaghetti strapes or tubes exposing the shoulders and back skin, some with buttoned blouses or just a fully worn dress with one side short and one side longer covering along the legs. Hair similar to korean and japanese actresses with permed little curls at along the end or simply just long and straight, some with layered cutting with uneven hair lengths along the front and back for a wild look, some highlighted and dyed light brown.

now the mix, this observation is most obvious with the malays or bumiputeras.

Male: Baggy jeans with casual shoes, some with regular dark toned jeans and no chain on the side pockets. The same huge t-shirts with pouches accross their chests, also some with buttoned shirt and unfolded long sleeves, mainly with vertical stripes or just plain, untucked. Pointy uneven hair style similar to the chinese male, even worst, dyed reddish-brown, most uncapped.

Female: white shoes with low-cut socks, some with heels or sandals and short skirts(not THAT short), and low-waist jeans with the same narrow "V" shaped along the ankle choking the ankles. Branded t-shirts matching colours to the jeans or skirt as well, without a single contrast. Improved hair styles with permed curls at the end like the chinese but not dyed.

As you all can see, the malaysian "style virus" is evolving and the effects are getting more and more dominant and susceptible to the society-labeled, "notorious youngesters". I myself is not that of a critique as you can see obviously from my poor judgemental fashion sense photos, just converying what I noticed on youth, like myself today.

Please do know that this post has no means of exalting racism nor insulting races, honestly.
