the time when sadistic firecrackers get off from deafening ear drums, I tell you, if bush was here, he would launch a nuclear attack on malaysia (figure of speech) just to join in the fun, war activists would go kamikaze over all the noise.
Also ah, it's the time also when the chinese tauke's and taukenio's get their guilt-free pass to double prices for service charge and food.
It is also the period when all the ah ma's and aunty's see the colour RED for not bringing suay. In fact, they say if we never wear red during the first day of chinese new year, it'll bring bring back luck throughout the year. Now, that's what I call suay .
Hell, even Emilio Valentino incorporated the idea into his label. Like this,
siaw ah! underwear also ang ang ah!?
wtf, clothes red not enough? KNN, even underwear also need to bring luck arh? I wonder what kind of luck it'll bring by wearing red colour underwear.
Not just that, last night I saw this fellow lurking around the bushes, I was so happy at first thinking I was the only one who could see him and I wanted to call him to give me big big luck luck all all year year to fak fak cai cai.
caishen dao!
Mana tahu, when I looked up, got 2 camera-man.. Sigh.. tmd, *FRAUD* like santa claus.
Anyway, jokes and laughs aside, chinese new year for me is the time where families actually get together to catch up and also the only time of the year for the us to have a decent break to sit back, take a rest, put things into perspective and set our priorities right aside from all the visitations and the new year clothes shopping.
However, there's a stigma that comes with chinese new year. The infamous facade of joy that we put on our faces when facing relatives and friends that gradually becomes a norm during the festive chinese new year, and this applies to myself as well. I mean out of 10 visitations, would you say u're actually genuinely happy and glad for at least 3 visits?
As harsh as it seems, I find it really dishonest and unnecessary, but inevitable.
Well, I'll wrap it up for now. Do check back soon and would love to hear your comments.
HAPPY CHINESE NEW YEAR!
&
GONG XI FA CAI!
